 The International Fertilizer Association (IFA), founded in 1927, has membership of 480 companies in 68 countries.  About 45% of IFA’s membership is based in developing countries. IFA members represent 75-80% of global fertilizer production. IFA’s members include fertilizer producers, traders and distributers, as well as their associations, service providers to the industry, research organizations, and non-governmental organization. IFA’s vision is productive and sustainable agricultural systems which contribute to a world free of hunger and malnutrition. It promotes efficient and responsible production, distribution and use of plant nutrients. The Association provides a framework for exchange and collaboration among its members in areas of common interest, and a structure for agreeing on common positions. Several Indian fertilizer and trading companies and FAI are members of IFA. IFA is a source of international data and information related to fertilizer and agriculture sectors. IFA holds its Annual Conference at different countries which is attended by senior officers of the Department of Fertilizers and Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. Indian Companies from Public, Private and Cooperatives also attend the Conference.

2. The Fertiliser Association of India (FAI) is a company registered under Section 26 of the Indian Companies Act 1913 (corresponding to Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013). FAI is a non-profit and non-trading organisation representing the Indian fertilizer industry. All the major fertilizer manufacturers/importers across the country are active members of the FAI. The FAI is represented on important government Committees/Panels related to fertilizer and agriculture.

3. The 88^thAnnual Conference of IFA will be held during 20-22 April, 2020 in Delhi. This is for the first time that IFA Annual Conference is being held in India. Hotel Taj Palace will be the headquarter hotel along with ITC Maurya, Leela Palace and Hyatt Regency as supporting hotels. More than 1300 international delegates from 60 countries are likely to attend the conference. The three-day conference will provide a unique opportunity to the Indian fertilizer fraternity to know about the latest development in the sector world over. The conference is supported by FAI.
