Driving License Conversion Letter

Requirements:

To obtain a Driving License Confirmation/Conversion Letter you would need the following documents:

1. Applicant must come in person for submitting application.

2. Passport and Indian driving license in original and photocopies of the same. The applicant may verify the Driving License on the Parivahan website of Govt of India (https://parivahan.gov.in/) and carry a printout. In case it does not reflect in the Parivahan website, the applicant has to approach the concerned RTO and get the Driving License updated to the new series. Once done, they can visit the Parivahan website and take a printout of the Driving License.

3. Original and Copy of IC (EP, WP, SPASS, PR, DP and others).

4. Requisition letter (pink form) from driving center endorsed by Land Transport Authority (LTA) and a copy of pink form to be submitted.

5. Singaporeans/Foreign nationals holding Indian driving license must submit proof of stay in India along with the application.

6. High Commission of India will issue such a confirmation letter only after verifying the authenticity of the documents produced before it. While the High Commission will make every effort to have the verification process expedited, some delay in this is possible.

7. Processing time is 3 to 5 working days. Fee applicable is S$30 in cash only.

9. For renewal or issuance of a duplicate Indian driving license, kindly visit the website of the RTO branch of India, which has issued the license.

 

Re-issuance of International Driving Permit (IDP) to Indian nationals

Requirements:

1. Applicant must come in person for submitting application.

2. Passport, International driving permit, Indian driving license in original and photocopies of the same.

3. Original and Copy of IC (EP, WP, SPASS, PR, DP and others).

4. Application form (click here) to be filled in by the applicants.

5. Processing time is 3 to 5 working days. Fee applicable is S$17 in cash only.

6. Mission will verify the name of the applicant from his/her passport and validity of the Driving License.

7. Singaporeans/Foreign nationals holding Indian driving license must submit proof of stay in India along with the application.

8. Mission will issue a receipt to the applicant with following details on it:

 

i. Name of the applicant as per passport.

ii. Expired IDP number of the applicant.

 

9. After obtaining the above-mentioned receipt, applicant will directly apply for fresh issue of IDP through the portal parivahan.gov.in and will upload the requisite documents, including the receipt issued by the Indian Mission and pay the requisite fees online on the web portal. On receipt of application through the portal, Licensing authority, on verification of the documents, shall issue the IDP and shall courier it directly to the address of the applicant.
