Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz 2018-19

In the spirit of engaging with the young Indian diaspora and to inspire us all to know and understand India better in all its vivid colors, the Ministry of External Affairs is conducting its second edition of “Bharat ko Janiye” (BKJ).

The quiz is open for overseas youths between the age of 15 and 35 years as on 1 January 2019. The online quiz is being held for three distinct categories of PIO, NRI and Foreign National and in four rounds.

The following are the details regarding the BKJ:

1. It is mandatory for the candidate to complete online registration at Portal www.bharatkojaniye.in to participate in the quiz for 1st round. The topics of the quiz will include Indian Art, Indian Democracy, Economy, Geography, Personalities in Music and Dance, Science and Technology, Literature, Indian Crafts, Indian Cinema and Renowned Personalities.
2. Quiz will be conducted in four rounds. The first round will be conducted by the High Commission of India ONLINE from 16 – 30 September 2018 (Local time). The round will contain 30 questions to be selected randomly by the computer to be answered in 25 minutes. There will be no negative marking. Indian origin youths who do not possess OCI/PIO cards may also participate in the 1st round without submitting proof of OCI/PIO documents. Last date for registration, 15 September 2018.
3. The top 3 contenders/participants of the 1st round of quiz from each category of NRI, PIO and Foreign National will qualify for 2nd round. The top 3 contenders/participants of the 1st round from each category will be given medals by the High Commission.
4. The second, third and fourth round will be conducted by Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The second round will also be online while the third and fourth round will be onsite and held in India.The 10 finalists from each category of NRI, PIO and Foreign National will be invited to India for Bharat Ko Janiye Yatra.
5. All those who are invited for onsite quiz (3^rd and 4^th round) would attend a workshop in New Delhi and participate in the Bharat Ko Janiye Yatra, a 15-day tour of India. Participants who qualify for the 3^rd and 4^th rounds will be provided with free airfare and accommodation for the entire duration of their stay in India. Top three winners will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, along with certificates, at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention 2019.
