Lost or Damaged Passports

Standard Documents for all Passport Related Services:

Documents required for Passport Renewal: Following documents are required to be submitted along with the passport application form, which can be registered online via the following link https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/. A print-out of the registered application form, along with one recent coloured photograph with white back ground, size (51mm x 51mm) and taken within the last 6 months, duly signed in the appropriate column, a copy of the existing (or expired) Indian Passport, valid residential status proof (NRIC/EP/SP/DP/WP) in Singapore (along with validity page), are required to be submitted, with the originals produced for verification, if asked for.  

For fee details for various services, please click on the ‘Passport & Consular’ or the ‘Download Centre’ tab at the top of the HCI website homepage, and select the required option from the drop-down menu.

Processing times for all Passport services are between 5-8 working days. However, for Lost/Damaged Passports, Change of Particulars, Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) and Emergency certificates, we are unable to indicate a clear timeline, as these services require police verification in India. To give a broad indication, the average turnaround time for these services is 30-40 days (estimated), subject to clearance from the concerned police authorities in India. Tatkaal passport services (where permitted) take a maximum of three working days.

Lost or Damaged Passports

An Indian national resident in Singapore who has lost his/her passport may apply for a new passport at any of the authorised consular service centres (managed by M/s. BLS International).

Additional documents required (for Lost Passports)

In addition to above mentioned documents for reissue of passports, a copy of the lost Indian Passport, may also be submitted, along with the original supporting documents for verification. A copy of the local police report intimating loss, duly sealed and signed by the police authority is also required. In the case of work-permit holders, a company letter is also to be furnished along with the application, police report and photocopies of the supporting documents.

Processing time: 30-40 days (estimated), subject to clearance from the concerned police authorities in India.

Documents required (for Damaged Passports)

In addition to the above-mentioned documents for reissue of passports, a copy of the existing (Damaged) Indian Passport, may also be submitted, along with the original documents for verification. In the case of work-permit holders, a company letter is also to be furnished along with the application, police report and photocopies of the supporting documents.

Processing time: 30-40 days (estimated), subject to clearance from the concerned police authorities in India.
